Springfield Police Blotter for Sept. 19, 2013. This is a sampling of police activity that occurred in Springfield during that time period, and not representative of all activity that occurred.

12:07 a.m. – After a high-speed pursuit along High Banks Rd., officers arrested David Thomas, 21 and Frederick Pecnic, 24, on multiple charges. Read more here.
12:58 a.m. – Several guests of the Regency Inn in the 1100 block of Main St. reported a male subject pacing back and forth and knocking on different motel room doors.
7:44 a.m. – Two vehicles were broken into in a parking lot in the 900 block of Kruse Way.
9:20 a.m. – Three gas cans were on the sidewalk in the 5400 block of A St. There was a strong smell of gasoline, but the caller was unsure whether or not gas had been poured out at the location.
10:40 a.m. – A resident in the 5200 block of Cynthia Ct. reported a subject who lives in a trailer parked in a neighboring driveway had his dogs running loose in the street. The resident who called said this had been an ongoing issue, and that the subject yelled at him earlier when he had asked the subject to contain his dogs.
10:42 a.m. – Donald Springer, 35, was cited in lieu of custody in the 200 block of 35th St. on charges of burglary-2 and theft-2.
10:57 a.m. – Chelsea Baker, 30, was arrested in the 0-99 block of U St. on a charge of driving while suspended.
12:11 p.m. – A resident in the 1400 block of S. 59th St. reported two male subjects knocked on her door selling magazine subscriptions. She declined, and then saw the subjects walking around the neighborhood looking into parked vehicles. Police contacted the two subjects at 60th and Obsidian Streets and advised them.
12:18 p.m. – A caller in the 100 block of 66th St. reported two dogs attacked another dog. The two dogs attacking were a boxer and a dalamatian, but the boxer was the primary attacker. The dogs broke through a fence at an A Street address and the caller also broke into the backyard to help the injured dog. The caller told dispatch she knew what she was doing because she works at a veterinarian’s office. Police located the dogs, and their owner, John Jackson, 64, who was cited on two counts of dog at large and one count of dog without a license. The boxer was taken into custody as a vicious dog.

12:55 p.m. – Kevin Wise, 62, was cited for driving while suspended in the 1400 block of Modoc St.
1:45 p.m. – An employee at LTD’s Springfield Station reported a male subject had come onto the property several times with a cat, and was refusing to allow employees to look in his backpack for the cat. The subject boarded an EmX bus and refused to get off. Police arrived and arrested Nathan Lacey, 33, on a charge of trespass, who indeed had the cat with him.
3:19 p.m. – A caller reported a white van was driving the wrong way in the eastbound lanes of the bridge between Glenwood and Springfield.
4:08 p.m. – Katrina Hixon, 23, was cited for driving while suspended in the 2700 block of Marcola Rd.
4:57 p.m. – A 35-year-old woman was advised concerning panhandling at the intersection of Main St. and Bob Straub Pkwy.
6:06 p.m. – A Green Dot Gold card was found in front of the Springfield Municipal Jail. It was lodged into property.
7:33 p.m. – An officer was flagged down in the 600 block of S. 40th St. The person who flagged down the officer reported a nest with three baby squirrels fell out of a tree.

8:14 p.m. – A male subject jumped over the fence into the secured parking area at Springfield Police Department. Police arrested Rodolfo Reyes, 45, on a charge of trespass.
8:20 p.m. – Cathy Estes, 40, was arrested at 40th and Main Streets on warrants for criminal non-support and possession of methamphetamine.
10:16 p.m. – Police contacted a male subject attempting to use a Slim Jim to get into a vehicle in the 300 block of S. 41st St. The subject had permission to work on the vehicle from the owner.
11:44 p.m. – A male and female, appearing to be in their 50s, were involved in a dispute outside of Figaro’s Pizza at 54th and Main Streets. The male was getting in the female’s face and waving his finger at her.
