Springfield Police Blotter for Sept. 8-9, 2013. This is a sampling of police activity that occurred in Springfield during that time period, and not representative of all activity that occurred.
Sunday, September 8
12:11 a.m. – A woman locked her 2-month old grandchild in her vehicle at the Chalet Apartments in the 2500 block of Gateway St. A vehicle unlocking service was contacted.
1:37 a.m. – Patrick Land, 52, was arrested on a charge of DUII at Marcola Rd. and Old Mohawk Rd.
2:48 a.m. – A caller at Club 1444 in the 1400 block of Main St. reported a customer had attacked a female and tried to pull her out of a vehicle. A bouncer at the club pinned down the customer in the parking lot. Police arrived and arrested Christopher Anderson, 32, on a charge of trespass.
4:00 a.m. – A resident in the 500 block of 33rd St. reported a male subject walked by and said “You are not safe.”
8:24 a.m. – Graffiti was reported on the back side of a fence along the bike path near the 900 block of Northridge Ave.
12:12 p.m. – A resident of the Lindsay Apartments in the 1900 block of 5th St. reported her nephew punched her in the face twice. This occurred in front of four children between the ages of 3 and 12.
2:31 p.m. – A resident in the 1800 block of F St. reported a male subject was climbing in a tree just outside her property, looking into windows. The subject said he was picking plums off of the tree, and said he had been given permission to do so. The owner of the property changed his mind, and the man in the plum tree was advised by police of trespass.
3:20 p.m. – A man who was practicing his sword techniques near S. 6th and S. A Streets was advised by police.
3:41 p.m. – A female hybrid wolf-dog was reported to be running at large near Franklin Blvd. and Brooklyn Ave.
4:21 p.m. – A glass pipe was found at Goodwill in the 100 block of 30th St.

6:20 p.m. – A silver 1993 Buick Regal was reported stolen from the Pheasant Park Apartments in the 400 block of Lindale Dr.
7:45 p.m. – Jacob Bandy, 23, was arrested in the 500 block of S. 53rd St. on a warrant for heroin possession.
Monday, September 9
12:57 a.m. – A blue 2005 Chevy Cavalier was repossessed from an address in the 500 block of S. 51st Pl.
9:02 a.m. – A suspicious male subject was walking in the area of S. 41st St. and Virginia Ave. going through trash and recycling containers of residents.
10:03 a.m. – A caller reported a taco stand in the 3600 block of Main St. had been broken into.
11:21 a.m. – An employee of Gateway Assisted Living in the 600 block of Cloverleaf Loop was hit in the arm by a pellet gun shot by a juvenile from a nearby yard. Medical attention was not needed.
11:24 a.m. – A person seeking spiritual assistance went to a tarot card reader in the 3500 block of Main St. to find the keys in the door to the building, which was unlocked. However, the tarot card reader was not there. The person said it was unlike the tarot card reader not to be there. The situation was resolved.
11:47 a.m. – A female subject was reported to have gone to a residence in the 2700 block of D St. and dented the hood of a vehicle. She also ripped off one of the windshield wipers.
1:27 p.m. – A kitchen knife was found stuck in a telephone pole near 9th St. and Centennial Blvd.
2:49 p.m. – A boxer named “Maxxi” was found at Island Park in the 200 block of W. B St. Dispatch called the number on the tag, but did not get a hold of the owner, who lives in Thurston.
2:53 p.m. – A small dog was locked in a vehicle parked at RiverBend Hospital, and was salivating heavily.
4:12 p.m. – A house and car were egged in the 1400 block of Olympic St. A female juvenile admitted to the deed, which damaged a car and the garage door.
4:17 p.m. – An employee of Dari-Mart on Franklin Blvd. reported a male subject was outside tipping over signs and yelling at people. The subject went inside the store, and allegedly stole a candy bar. Police located the subject a few minutes later and arrested him. However, about 20 minutes later, the store employee declined to press charges, and the subject was advised and warned about his behavior.
6:27 p.m. – A caller reported a group of 4-5 subjects were damaging the basketball hoops at Volunteer Park in the 4300 block of Mt. Vernon Rd. Police showed up a few minutes later and there was no damage to the park property.
7:58 p.m. A male subject was reported to be seen near Pioneer Parkway E. and E St. carrying a sword and making gestures with it.
9:02 p.m. – A German Shepherd was seen in the area of S. 15th and S. B Streets chasing after people.
10:07 p.m. – A caller in the 300 block of 43rd Pl. reported a dispute occurring between a male and a female, and a neighbor had paid a visit to see what was going on. About 15 minutes later, the caller reported receiving a text from the female half of the dispute saying the male was yelling and beating the washing machine.
11:19 p.m. – An employee of Buffalo Wild Wings in the 2700 block of Gateway St. reported her iPhone 5 had been stolen.
